Come along and experience how a macrobiotic lifestyle can benefit you.   Join us on this fun and informative day where experienced macrobiotic teachers David and Nicola McCarthy will share their expert knowledge.  The day includes cooking demonstrations and lectures where you will discover some practical tips to help maintain or improve your health.  

Refreshments and a delicious macrobiotic/vegan lunch is included, prepared using local organic produce.

The Round Table Kitchen is a brand new teaching space based at Hillsdown Farm on Ashdown Forest.  The kitchen is a relaxed, welcoming space, furnished with a mix of industrial stainless steel and vintage painted furniture.  It has tons of natural light, lovely rural views and a small terrace where you can sit and enjoy peace and quiet on a sunny day.

The Round Table Kitchen is located on the beautiful Sussex High Weald, within 20 minutes drive of Haywards Heath, Forest Row and East Grinstead and easily reached from Brighton, Tunbridge Wells and Crawley. 

Haywards Heath and East Grinstead are served by lots of direct trains from London.

Teachers

David McCarthy

David McCarthy

David is co-director and founder of the Kushi Macrobiotic School UK, a centre of excellence for teaching macrobiotics in Mid Sussex, England. He is a Pharmacist and Internationally recognised Macrobiotic Teacher, Counsellor and Natural Health Advocate. 

Following his son Jonathan's brain tumour diagnosis that led to his tragic and untimely death at the age of 10, David found modern medicine had no answers and turned to a more holistic path. For more than 20 years David has studied natural approaches to healing and the healing power of food. He studied many healing diets and lifestyles ranging from Ayurveda to Vegan and in macrobiotics found a better way to improve their health and well-being.

David studied Macrobiotics at the Kushi Institute of Europe in Amsterdam, deepening his knowledge on the way with invaluable teaching from Michio Kushi and other leading teachers in the USA and Europe.

David has educated people from all over the world, from all walks of life, advising how to improve their health with better food choices. He continues to actively teach macrobiotics in the UK and throughout Europe and the USA, dedicated to the promotion of personal and planetary health.

As a macrobiotic counsellor, David guides others to strengthen or recover their own health.
 


Nicola McCarthy

Nicola is co-director and founder of the Kushi Macrobiotic School UK, a centre of excellence for teaching macrobiotics in Mid Sussex, England. She is an internationally recognised teacher of natural healing and macrobiotics and has expert knowledge of the healing power of food.

Nicola has dedicated over 20 years to the healing arts with focus on Macrobiotics, Reflexology, Massage and Hands-on Healing. She studied Macrobiotics at the Kushi Institute of Europe in Amsterdam, deepening her knowledge on the way with invaluable teaching from Michio Kushi and other leading teachers in the USA and Europe.

Nicola has a deep understanding of macrobiotics and is passionate about natural healing, she sparkles with life and loves nothing more than to share the knowledge that changed her life. Nicola has educated people from all over the world, from all walks of life, advising how to improve their health with better food choices . She continues to actively teach macrobiotics in the UK and throughout Europe and the USA, dedicated to the promotion of personal and planetary health. 

Her enthusiasm for her subject is contagious, she has even been known to provide macrobiotic food for the odd Hollywood celebrity!
