What you can expect
During the consultation you will be given health, lifestyle and dietary advice. Your recommendations are specific to you and your concerns and needs and are based upon the macrobiotic principles of health and wellbeing.
Prior to your appointment, please take time to complete your personal health questionnaire. Click Begin Consultation and follow instructions. This will help David to clarify any questions or concerns you want to raise during your consultation and help to focus on any recommendations needed to improve your health and wellbeing.
How long is the consultation?
The first appointment usually lasts between 1-2 hours, depending upon your requirements.
Will I need a follow up?
David will discuss this with you towards the end of your consultation. You may need more than one visit, some people come only once to receive help in getting a clear direction for their health. However, some people choose to return for ongoing guidance and support.
What can I take away from the consultation?
You will be given personalised recommendations to progress your health, a food list, recipes, healthy lifestyle suggestions and recommended reading.
Macrobiotics teaches us that the quality of our health is based mainly on our daily food choices (i.e. we are what we eat), alongside our activities and lifestyle, and that by adjusting these we can create or lose our health. Macrobiotics is all about creating balance and harmony in all areas of our lives through commitment to a natural way of living. Contrary to some opinions it is not a restrictive regime. If you are serious enough about wanting to change your health for the better, nothing that macrobiotics throws at you will seem restrictive. We only feel restricted in a negative way if we are not ready to make change.
Despite his background as a Pharmacist, David is not a medical doctor and as such he does not provide pharmaceutical or medical recommendations, testing or treatments. However, thanks to his pharmaceutical training, he has a clear insight into medical practice and uses this to inform his work. In addition to your counselling session, he may recommend that you consult your General Practitioner. Macrobiotics can be used alongside treatment from your medical Doctor or other Complimentary Therapies such as Acupuncture, Homeopathy or Shiatsu.
David’s aim is to provide you with the necessary dietary and lifestyle advice based on his years of study and experience to help you create lasting health.

Should I study Macrobiotics?
Many of our clients find themselves becoming immersed in the fascinating world of macrobiotics and if you are considering a consultation with David, you may find some basic study of enormous benefit.
At Kushi Macrobiotic School UK we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive study of macrobiotics, from introductory short classes to the internationally accredited Kushi Macrobiotics Levels Programme (a 12 Day Intensive Course of 3 Levels). The more you learn, the more effective the benefit from your consultation is likely to be.
